What is Hellenistic Astrology?

Hellenistic astrology, a Greco-Roman tradition, first appeared in the Mediterranean around the 1st century BCE and was practiced until roughly the 7th century. It serves as the basis for many modern astrological systems that are still widely practiced today. This tradition evolved through a fusion of ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian astrology and went on to shape various astrological practices across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and India throughout the Middle Ages and beyond. In recent years, Hellenistic astrology has experienced a resurgence in popularity, with renewed interest in its techniques and philosophical foundations.
